Hello, my friends. I do hope you are well.

This year has gotten off to a high-velocity, head-long, full-tilt charge into a number of major projects. I have felt a bit like these wild ranunculus, turning in many directions, each full of promise and interest. I know many of us feel it often enough and I found it beneficial to begin crossing projects, ideas, plans and activities off the list until I had only the ones that were THE most important, the ones that, if I really got them done, I would feel that sometimes elusive sense of accomplishment and also know that I’d taken the right strategic steps for the future, for me, loved ones and family. It was a very good exercise and gave me some stable points to focus on and yank myself back to when the daydreaming and imagining of new and tantalizing projects sets in. :)

A very special one that absolutely stayed on the list is nearly complete. Recently I had the great pleasure of helping Erin of Floret Flowers update her blog and website. We’re still tweaking but are pretty tickled with the result so do stop by and indulge your senses in the abundant beauty of her life and floral creations. She has such an amazing year ahead, you are going to love coming along for the ride!

As for these images, I’m a bit ashamed to say I’ve been tweaking and playing around with them for nearly two years. Who can afford such an indulgence of time? Let’s grab our best and favorite projects, get them done and get them out! The world is waiting to benefit from what each of us are creating. And I myself can’t wait to see what you have been up to, so expect me popping in this coming week – I can’t wait!

Hope you are cozy or cool, whichever your weather requires.

much love,

G

  • Goodmorning my friend! I just woke up to see your lovely posting. I usually find myself lacking the ability to focus on the most necessary things, as it is that the unecessary ones that capture my attention. I should work on it ,too, probably. As for the photos, they’re like paintings! I’m impressed! Have a lovely weekend!

I know it was YOUR time, but I daresay that the two years you spent on these was so worth it. They are absolutely gorgeous, and just my opinion, some of your very best work.

  • Ah…so beautiful to wake up to these gorgeous ranunculus! I think they must be my favourite flower to photograph with their twisting stems and delicate petals….not to mention the fabulous colours.

I’m happy to hear that the new year has begun with blessed beauty and fulfilling projects for you. I’m in Mexico for two months and will be using this lovely “down time” finishing up some projects, redesigning our business website and maybe even beginning a new project or two.

Thanks for sharing the sunshine of your ranunculus with us this morning Georgianna!

  • Oh my! How gorgeous! Each and every one!
Glad to hear that there are people like me who take a while to finish something. Ha!

    January 26, 2013
  • Yes, a list is exactly what I need to get my mind focused on. I knew that but your kind words of encouragement were exactly what I needed to hear, sweet friend.

Words are so tough to come by to describe the thoughts and emotions I experience looking at your pictures. Beautiful just doesn’t cover it! Guess I’ll just say, I’m thankful the internet allows me a look into your wonderful world of creativity. I’m even more grateful to have encountered the lovely spirit behind the lens this past summer.

Great job on the Floret website, friend. Following Erin now too.

  • Hi G
You tweaked these so favourably that they look like you painted them with a brush, rather than from a camera.
The ranunuculus look like they’re made from tissue paper, so delicate, no wonder you like these for photo subjects.

  • Stunning!

    January 26, 2013
  • Georgianna, a long time in the making but worth every moment. They are stunning with the point of focus you chose. Sometimes things must marinate in our brains before we truly know what is to become of them.

    January 27, 2013
  • Your photos are so lovely. I just love your editing. I can get lost for hours editing photos. And they definitely don’t look as pretty as this.

Wishing you a happy weekend my friend.

    Hugs~

  • Georgianna,
I stopped by the blog and website and wow your photographs are stunning.

I love how full the bouquets are and how you photographed them to really show off their abundance.

It is true that sometimes when you are pulled in so many directions with different projects, it can be distracting. I find I am feeling most alive when I am doing a million different things.

    Thank you for your inspiration.

  • Hi G ~ The Floret site is beautiful! How fortunate for them to connect with you :) I assume it was a pleasing job for you to take on with all the colorful and gorgeous subject matter.
Your ranunculus images are a wonderful breath of spring to a very snowy day here. Love the color, design, and focus in these!
    Here’s to a great year….enjoy.

  • I adore these, love the texture. I know just what you mean, i have so many projects in my to do one day list, trying to gradually tick them off. I must now aim at those projects that i hope will really make a difference for my business future, i find those somehow the most daunting to face, putting too much pressure on them to be just right i guess! • The ranunculus is my favorite spring flower. It makes me think of peonies(my all time fave). They are so special because they almost tumble out of the vase in different directions but the beauty of the flower itself..ahhhhh. And your photos? I can only sigh…
    Have a lovely day..

  • Definitely words of inspiration as we start this new year and prioritize what projects should take precedence. I do so identify with the analogy of ranunculus, turning here and there! At least they’re gorgeous while they’re doing it!

    January 28, 2013
  • I have too many favorite and not so favorite projects ;) but that’s a great idea and will keep it in mind! L

I just love the beautiful flowers, colours and especially how you textured the images! It shows it’s well worth playing with your work for as long as it takes to be completely satisfied. Thanks so much for sharing, dear friend! xoxo

  • It’s always good to finish projects! I love ranunculus….and these pix show why — delicate, open, pretty, beautiful, welcoming, warm, soft, pretty; I just love to put my nose right in there! The second and final pix are my faves — top work, georgianna, with those two. Painterly. Beautiful.

  • Absolutely! I adore your enthusiasm and drive. It’s so true sometimes we linger far too long on certain projects – be they still plans in our heads or actual creations we’ve begun work on and end up feeling like we’re falling behind or underachieving because of these half finished starts. I’m with you 100% on getting things done and out there door. I hope that such can ring true for at least of my creative endeavours this year as well.

Happiest Valentine’s Day wishes, sweet friend!
    ♥ Jessica
