Bonjour! Here is your annual immersion in the beautiful pink magnolias at Palais Royal. If you are in Paris right now, head over there tomorrow because they are already starting to fall. The weather is freakishly warm and the blossoms are fading more rapidly than usual. But they are as beautiful as ever and the evenings are warm and delightful for strolling among the scented beauty.💕🌸
Bonjour, dear friends! At last I am revealing my latest book project – Beautiful Blooms! If you are one of my loyal subscribers, you’ve already seen this and, in fact, have been involved since last summer in the selection of the cover image, for which I am very grateful.
But this is its first appearance on Instagram and perhaps now you’ll understand why I’ve been a bit absent here for the last year. The most intense project I’ve undertaken, it involved a review of over 20 years of my images, carefully curated and selected by me, and organized into what I hope are inspiring and thoughtful chapters. This was followed by me writing often deeply personal reflections on the images and my career, as well as behind-the=scenes stories.
To be honest, I quit the project twice. While most of the images evoke happy memories, some were tinged with sadness and melancholy, depending upon what was happening at the time in my life. I have my Publishing Director, Laura, to thank for guiding me through this process and me ultimately creating the work you see here.
I invite you to visit the link in my profile to see a sneak peek of interior images, read a detailed description and, if you wish, to preorder. As you likely know by now, preorders are quite important to the successful launch of any book. All the information and links are included at that link. Un grand merci!
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my publishers and editors @pavilionbooks @harpercollinsuk @gibbsmith for approaching me with the idea for this work and for championing it to through to the finished book. And my immense thanks to each of you, so many who have supported my work through many years.
With much love,
G

A final look at the snow in Paris, this time at our beloved Palais Royal. I arrived when it was still dark and a brief blizzard descended, with icy wind and swirling snow. Alone, I walked through drifts of unblemished snow beneath the iconic arches, a surreal and otherworldly experience. Bitterly cold, and fearful of my fingertips, I nevertheless knew this was a once-in-a-lifetime moment. We hope you enjoy the images. 💕💕💕❄️🤍
More Paris in the snow for you, before it fades from memory. The Louvre and Tuileries are very near our apartment so I visited during the evening snow, the next day’s sun and the mini blizzard the following morning. It’s remarkable how different it can appear under different conditions. And to crunch through snow in these locations was a special treat! I wasn’t shooting specifically for social media, but rather for two upcoming books, so didn’t do a lot of video, but will share more of that on stories. Tomorrow will share the Palais Royal at dawn. Thank you for visiting and for your lovely comments, which we are answering asap. Love from Paris. xx❄️✨🤍
Paris being Narnia for three days. ❄️ It’s been out early, all day with heavy gear, not wanting to miss a second the opportunity to capture this magic for you. Enjoy this first themed selection and am striving to share much more before the moment fades. Love from Paris. ❄️✨
Happy Solstice from our home to yours! ✨We hope this cherished time at the turning of the season is filled with joy and love, for you and everyone you hold dear, and that it may overflow and spread throughout the world. 🕊️✨Much love from Paris. 🎄
Bonjour! We know you’re seeing the grand, spectacular decor in Paris (more to come!) but thought you would enjoy a sample of the charming local sparkle around our neighborhood that we enjoy on our daily walks. ✨✨✨🎄☺️
This year’s spectacular tree at our beloved @museerodinparis features birds and other nature themes. 🎄✨ Always one of your favorites, I took many images for you this morning. It was challenging to edit them down so there might be a second post from this location. ☺️✨ We hope you are enjoying and cherishing each moment of this special season. Sending much love from Paris. ✨💕
The ballet-themed fairytale decor and tree @icparislegrand @repettoparis created by @emmasosastudio is the season’s most romantic! 🩰 it celebrates the 150th anniversary of the Opera Garnier. Emma is the daughter and partner of @anne.vitchen who created the fabulous🧸🧸🧸 tree at @ritzparis and the stunning just-revealed tree @operadeparis , among many others. Together, these ladies have brought magic and wonder to the entire city! Bravo! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Bonsoir! ✨🎄 My winter desk view, a Parisian holiday fantasy. I generally have mostly flowers here but added some sparkle for seasonal fun. After ten floral books (new one in May — my subscribers have gotten a sneak peek!), I am delighted to be working now on not one, but two, Paris books. For all updates, I invite you to join my newsletter list and you’ll also receive my free 2026 printable Paris calendar. (Link in profile.) Thank you to each of you for following along and joining in — you are greatly appreciated! 🥰🫶🏻📖
How many darling bellboy bears can you count on the gorgeous new @ritzparis tree? 🧸🧸🧸 Created by the amazing @anne.vitchen and her team, this theme is all about the magic of childhood. I popped in to discover that the bears have taken over! 🎄Stop by the delightful Place Vendôme outdoor Ritz cafe for hot chocolate and marshmallow bears, and choose your own fluffy bear to take home. 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Welcome December! A few first scenes of the holidays in Paris. The beautiful bow at @chanelofficial was much loved last year and has been brought back by popular demand. Other locations include the view from @galerieslafayette, Place Vendome, Av. Montaigne and @plaza_athenee , Tuileries Carnival. It’s fairly cold and damp here in Paris but I’ll be out as always to bring you the beautiful decor popping up everywhere.
IT’S HERE – your free 2026 printable Paris desk calendar!

Enjoy! (Next up is my downloadable Paris desk calendar, also a gift to all my loyal subscribers.) Sending love from Paris. 💕☺️
An autumn delight — the beauty of fading hydrangea petals, all from our former garden. Our October sunshine has departed, ushering in chocolat chaud season! Sending love from Paris. 💕✨
Bonjour! Here’s Part II of the best locations for autumn color in Paris. See our last post for Part I. Thank you for being here! 🍁🍂☺️✨💕🫶🏻
Bonjour! Here is Part I of my list of personally inspected locations where you can see autumn color right now in Paris and well into November. (The urns at Lux to switch out soon) Feel free to save and share. Much more to come! 🌕✨🍂🍁 p.s. the huge book project is thisclose to being finished. Many of you on my mailing list helped to choose the cover and I can’t wait to share soon! I am indebted to you. 🙏🏻💕
Bonjour, mes amis! Happy equinox! As a farewell to summer and a gentle transition to autumn, I wanted to create a seasonal arrangement on my desk. But to be honest, could not get excited about oranges and reds. I decided that the rich tones of fading antiqued hydrangeas with a few chrysanthemums would be perfect in our Parisian apartment and a color palette close to my heart. The flower shops in Paris right now are absolutely overflowing with massive hydrangea blooms that are up to ten inches in width! The jeweled shades are spectacular! And remind me of the many hydrangeas we had in our former US garden (and which were used to create the flat in this album). I hope you enjoy this hydrangea interlude and, of course I will be sharing much more of autumn in Paris, but this is how I’m welcoming the season in my own way into our apartment here in Paris. Sending love to all. 💕💕💕 (gorgeous hydrangeas tablecloth @by.hope.home )
Bonjour! This is the time of what I call the “Second Spring” at Luxembourg Gardens, when the hot pinks of the flower-filled urns and oleanders are at their peak. If you are in Paris over the next few weeks, you are in for a treat to see these before the faded shades of autumn gently appear and the urns are filled with yellow and orange mums. Wishing you a beautiful day! 💕🌸
Last days of what has been a gorgeous August in Paris. ☀️🕶️🚤 We hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!
Bonjour! A sampling of August skies so far (no filters!). Because of the direction we face, late afternoon showers quite often end in rainbows, which, of course, I leap up from my desk to photograph. 😉 Still lovely summer days here and we’re in no hurry for them to end. Hope you’re having the same.
Bonsoir, mes amis! Here is a collection of soothing roses for you to say farewell to beautiful July. I have been deep into a project which has consumed most of my spring and summer, which was the time period I had planned to step away from the computer for awhile. But an opportunity was presented and here I am, wrapping up the biggest project I have undertaken. If you are on my subscriber list, you will have some idea of what I’ve been working on. I can’t say much just yet, but it is a new book and will be out in the spring. Meanwhile, I have final text and image edits to complete and hope to have some summer fun here in Paris after. It is very unfashionable to stay in Paris during the month of August. Most Parisians leave for holiday, but I actually enjoy being here because it is quiet and relaxed. Hoping that you have been well and thanking you for your always kind support. Sending much love from Paris. 💕💕💕xx
We’re nearing the end of peony season and our very hot temps are hastening it even faster. I decided to create an epic display across all our balconies of endless blooms. (Keeping them fresh was a challenge and the bouquets rotated through the fridge all afternoon.) Then coffee and treats and some progress on future Paris book planning. (The floral journals were one-of-a-kind from an Etsy Paris seller but she has now sold out.) I hope you enjoy this floral fantasy indulgence! xx💕
Bonjour! A bit rainy in Paris today but that isn’t dimming the breathtaking beauty of the Palais Royal roses, which are at their peak this week. We’ve gathered a collection of images and videos to help you feel as though you were right here. The main rose is ‘Palais Royal’, known as the little sister of ‘Pierre de Ronsard’, and is also known as ‘White Eden Rose’. The delicate pinks and creams ensure the most romantic of displays. Enjoy! 💕💕💕
Bonjour, mes amis! Here is your first peony immersion post of the season! The markets are overflowing with towering mountains of blooms, and every florist has huge bouquets outside their doors. 💕🌸 I haven’t been here much because I am in the final weeks of the deadline for my biggest and most important book project ever. I can’t say too much about it just yet, but of course, there will be lots of flowers! Over the next month, I hope to give you some sneak peaks, but in the meantime, I’d better get it finished as I am behind schedule! If you are on my mailing list, you had the opportunity to sign up to be part of the final cover selection survey when we are ready for that. I will keep everyone updated. I hope you’re having a lovely month of May, and that these peonies brighten your week. Sending love, as always, from Paris.💕🌸💕
Happy May Day! Joyeuse Fête du Muguet! A very favorite day annually in France. On this day, it is a tradition to present friends and loved ones with a small bouquet of Lily of the Valley as an expression of good fortune and affection. All over Paris, florists and street vendors sell sprigs, bouquets and potted plants and one can witness charming scenes of the flowers being purchased and lovingly presented by people of all ages. Kind volunteers from The Red Cross are also out with their own booths. Here are some favorite videos and images taken throughout the years, with bundles cut from our former garden, where it grew wild, and displays on our mantel here in Paris. Beautiful display this morning (3rd image) at my friend @officine.florale Wishing you a day of flowers, love, luck and happiness. 🌿🤍🌱☺️
Bonjour! 💜 Some wisteria scenes around Paris from recent years. Sadly, some of them have gotten the chop since these images were taken but will, with luck, return in the future. The video clips are from the Grand Mosquèe, the most beautiful display of wisteria in the city. 💜💜💜
The immense Kwanzan cherry tree at Jardin des Plantes is at peak bloom at this moment! 🌸💕 And the spring plantings are as beautiful as I’ve ever seen, with displays of daffodils, tulips and Icelandic poppies. If you are in Paris right now, do head over to this marvelous garden and see my favorite tree, which also appeared in my book Paris in Bloom. This cherry tree is over 50 years old and has protected status. I hope you enjoy! 🌸🌷💛💐💕
It’s finally time! After a very slow start to spring here in Paris, the sudden warm weather has caused the cherry blossoms to unfold literally overnight. These are at the charming Square Gabriel Pierné, which I visited last evening. I also went to Jardin des Plantes early this morning, and there was so much in bloom, as well as incredibly beautiful plantings of daffodils and tulips. If you are in Paris this week, definitely make a point of seeing this beauty! The temperatures are so high that I’m afraid that blooms won’t last too long.
A fitting welcome to spring! If you are in Paris right now, head over to the Petit Palais, where the courtyard cherry blossoms are at peak. Have a coffee in the outdoor cafe and savor one of the most beautiful museums in the city. Always free to enter, it’s a favorite of mine and makes my heart skip a beat to be able to visit often. After a bit of a late start, we are on the way! 🌸💕🌸
