I’m late posting these for Remembrance Day, I apologize. But truthfully, what is observed on November 11 should not be relegated to a single day, a sentiment I know we all share.
D and I photographed these fields on a rural drive in France last June. How fitting that we were in the peaceful and beautiful countryside of Normandy.

Thank you for your comments and wishes on the last post – so very much appreciated!
And I neglected to tell you about two new Paris posts on Paris By Two, here and here. We hope you enjoy them.
Hope your week has been splendid so far and ends with a flourish!
much love,
– g
Oh Georgianna…this is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing them with us. I've shown them to my husband so we've now the added poppy fields in Normandy to the list of places we will be visiting!
And you're absolutely right, any day and every day is a good day for remembering.
Oh isn't that spectacular. Coming upon that would take my breath away. So glad you managed to photograph it. V
These are beautiful. I've never seen a field of poppies (in person) and it looks as if it would take your breath away.
xo

Absolutely gorgeous Georgianna!
The second one is pure magic!
Simply stunning! The light in these photos is breathtaking!
I once stayed with a lady in England who loved Poppies; even named her dog Poppy! They're gorgeous and I see now why she loved them so!
Have a blessed day!
What a find–a field full of poppies to photograph! I bet you've had to climb a fence or two in your lifetime to capture a great shot, or at least jump a ditch!
So many people in London wearing poppies this week–it's a nice thing to see.
Oh my goodness, that sight must have literally taken your breath away! What beautiful images, and a poignant reminder of the sacrifices of so many.
Have a wonderful week, dear g! xoxo
What gorgeous poppy fields! I guess that's where the poppies blow that inspired the poem In Flanders Fields. It's never too late to remember. Blessings, Pamela
wow, gorgeous….it reminds me of the wizard of oz….one of my favorite movies….waht a beautiful vista. what a wonderful trip you had….
xo
Placid and serene and thought provoking…perfect mood.
Poppies!! I'd love to throw myself in that field …
Did you gasp out loud when you came across this vista? I know I would have ~
Hi G
I've seen photos of fields of daffodils, tulips and lavender but none were as beautiful as this vision of poppies as far as the eye can see.
It must be the red, and emotional significance attached to the poppies.
Thanks for the reminder that we should remember every day.
Judith
Beautiful reminder! I am off to check out your other blog now.
Take care,
Carolyn
The poppies are splendid….and most apropos….smiles
Good night my dear, I´m so happy to see your published work!!! your images should be everywhere my dear!!! and the pendants are sooo pretty and lovely.
You make such amazing images, this poppies field is incredible beautiful!!! and, for sure, only you can capture something like this beauty.
I have been so busy and happy working for our new house that don´t have much time these days to visit you or anyone else, I apologize my dear Georgianna!!
hugs and kisses to you from here
So much beauty. I would have had to sit for a long time and soak this all in and then take photos.
Lovely beyond words.
G ~ It looks like Flanders Fields to me…how beautiful to come upon a sight like this! xo
Wow, so beautiful! I love poppies! A field in red!
Have a wonderful day.
Yvonne
Not much can rival a field of bright red poppies. These are splendid photos. Thanks for sharing. :)
So beautiful! There are poppies here during summertime, spread along roads and fields, but never a field full of them like that.
Poppies as far as you can look, wow, must have been breathtaking to be there!
Poppies, so very much the symbol of Remembrance. I didn't make a post on it now but have made several posts on it on different dates. In our street alone there's two graveyards with victims of the first worldwar, as there are so many scattered all over, I pass those green with white border signs every day, each pointing you to another graveyard with its very own name. I will never get used to it and Remembrance is so very present every single day here. So strange to think that where we now live was once such a battlefield and so many men from all over the world gave their lives here. It can never ever be forgotten. Even now it still takes a victim from time to time. A farmer always has to be aware there is still so much amunition burried under the soil here.
Bye,
Marian
Absolutely breathtaking.. What a site to see!!!
Hope you are having a happy week!
Hugs, Linda
I think it's a feeling of total bliss wandering in a field of poppies. These are beautiful! :)

Ada
Dearest sweet g, these photos are so beautiful! I don't get to see the real flowers here coz i think the weather here just doesn't permit them to last. This is as close as i can get to enjoy these flowers! Thanks so much for sharing! Have a lovely merry happy weekend and love to you!
Georgianna..living here in Texas, we don't get the kind of flowers you get up there.
Your images are beyond delightful.
Such thought has been put into each one of your images. You have inspired me..but I will have to wait now until probably March before I can start photographing florals outdoors again, expcept for maybe pansies.
So happy I found you…please come by and see my Delightful Clutter and florals too.
I have joined your blog…don't want to miss anything.
Rose
G, are you sure that field is real? Are you REALLY sure? Because I've never seen anything like it before.
; )
Hi dear! I am so impressed with this photo. It is a rich history, that of the poppy. I am so saddened and yet, also renewed by the metaphor from the first world war. I must say, you are an angel. Blessings and thanks for just being you.
i stumbled upon your blog and saw beautiful pictures that you took :) you have great photography skills :)
Hi Georgianna,

You know, last night I had a dream about you… i dreamt that someone was showing me pictures of flowers and I said, "I know Georgianna Lane. She is the best photographer in the world of gardens and flowers and pretty places around the world." And then I took this person to your website. I remember this dream so clearly its not funny. :) Love the pics as usual. They are breathtaking. I'm so flattered that I can say that I know you. :) You are an amazing person.

Very beautiful poppies in Normandy. I'm so proud of my dad for serving in World War II, along with the rest of his generation, and all the other service men and women that make such sacrifices for our freedom. Definitely something to be thankful for!
Hi Georgianna, I am still playing catch up after the olive harvest so late seeing this glorious remembrance tribute, you are right we should give thanks every day. Enjoy your weekend.
