Recipe for open-eyed dreaming: Take a Friday afternoon, Seattle sunshine, the University Yoshino cherry trees at their absolute perfect peak, me with my new Nikon D800, D with his new Canon 5D Mark III. Mix equal parts, sprinkle with delight and enjoy with abandon. (above: Nikon D800, Lensbaby Edge 80, 1/640th sec at F/4.0, manual mode, edited in Lightroom 4 and Photoshop 5.5)

Hi G
I have dreamed of seeing the cherry trees in person, but this is definitely the next best thing. Gorgeous!
I like that you have included lens, speed etc. for each shot. Not that I understand completely, but getting my own manual out could help. :-)
Happy Easter to you and David.

Happy Easter. Spectacular photos. It must be even more so in person when you can inhale the fragrance too. I thank you for the camera details. I am just beginning a course on the lens baby and your photos are something to inspire me. I have not heard of the edge 80 but will get more informed of these additions as I go along. Valerie

Hi Val, The Edge 80 is their newest. It creates the single slice of focus similar to a tilt-shift lens. I'm still getting used to it myself but really like it. xo – g

Awesome! I have been driving all over this lower mainland looking for full bloom blossoms and they just are not out yet. Or at least where there are not full grown pitbulls chasing me back to my vehicle. It is all just in the beginning bloom phase here, I just have to be patient! These photos are awesome, if I didn't dream in pink I will now!! Beautiful!

Happy Easter to you and David and congrats on your new camera. My aunt invited me to visit the cherry blossoms my last year of college, but I had to decline because of exams (and that was at least 30 years ago, lol). Someday I will make it; they are as gorgeous as your photos. Thanks for the info on each shot.

Hi G,
Gorgeous captures!!! You've done the UW campus justice. It is an amazing campus, especially in the springtime (My husband spent his 1st year of college there on a gymnastics scholarship. Then the silly guy came back to MN to be by me!). Thanks for adding all the camera settings. That is helpful. Loving what the LB Edge 80, and you, can do!
All I do is think and dream about color lately, as I look out at our bleak scene. Glad that you're enjoying some beautiful pink!
