I love Paris early in the morning ~ the smell of fresh cafe & croissants, shop keepers just opening up their stores, the sun or the rain leaving a gleam on the streets ~ I could go on & on. Paris is magical, n’est-ce pas? You always capture it so well.

I’ve been to Paris twice, but the last time has already been a while ago. From what I remember I just loved the “French feeling” there. I had the impression that its smells and lights and sounds are just special. And who couldn’t resist a fresh warm croissant while sitting in one of those wonderful street cafés and watching the stylish French people walking by?

What’s magical about Paris….the fact that I am there/here right NOW is pretty magical. Waking each morning in this wonderful city and waiting to see what it has to offer me each day is a delight….I’m loving every minute!!!

I think what is most magical about Paris is that it lives up to your expectations and lures you in until you suddenly realise that you too have fallen prey to its spell.

We were in Paris in the spring of ’73. It was exciting, old world, beautiful and romantic. We were there 6 days.
Thank you for sharing your travels with us. Your photos of Paris always bring up memories of the wonderful experience we had there.

The most magical about Paris must be the forever magic it seems to possess, even for those of us who have not been there (but someday will)! Paris is a promise of street restaurants, classic & chic dressed people, the Eiffel tower, vintage markets, bakeries, cars honking, roses, quaint hotels, romance in the air, people-watching, the language. Simply put: Paris!!!

What a wonderful and generous giveaway Georgianna.
Magical about Paris? Other than your photographs, I am going to say the B&Bs, and the architecture.
Happy Monday to you!

Since I have only been to Paris through your photos G, I would have to say the buildings. Such wonderful old architecture and interesting doors of all shapes and sizes. A place where they’re not afraid to paint the trim a bold colour.

I have never been to Paris, but I think the whole city is magical. The Flower markets, the balconies, and the cafes. The people, lights, architecture and chocolate. And once more with feeling, Flowers!!! ;)

Oh yes please!! Do put my name in your hat! The book looks gorgeous and might be what my hubby and I need to finally visit Paris together! He promised me when we were not married yet, more than a decade ago! :=O

What a lovely give away and what is not to magical in Paris. If I have to choose I’d say the romantic atmosphere! :) Speaking of romantic, just love your peonies from Paris. They are so pretty!

Everything is magical in Paris ! Even if I never visited this great city yet I have seen so many photos, especially here on your blog. I think what makes it special, among other things, is the gorgeous flowers markets, the lovely bridges, the lamppost, the architecture, the fountains, the churches…Alleluiah ! :)

I’ve been to Paris twice. Once around christmas and 3 days in the summertime
Both times were fab! Love the Louvre, Eifeltower, boating on the Seine. Just walking through the city. Mostly liked Montmartre with the artists.
Love your photo’s!

In 1969 and 1970 I would sit in my high school French class with headphones on, learning the language, and dreaming of going to Paris someday.
When the dream came true in 1977 and again in 1984, it was like I had been touched by magic. I was there and everything was sprinkled in stardust*~*~*~*just as I had imagined it!

Vicariously is the only way I can visit Paris. I do love seeing your photos, and I would dearly love the magic of enjoying all that Paris has to offer by winning this book!
I took French in high school and college. Our high school teacher had a French club for us to experience food, music and other things francais.

The most magical about Paris, you ask? Well, I’m going in the autumn and I’ll tell you when I get back ;-)

What I loved most about Paris were the narrow little streets with just the suggestion of a sidewalk… you could ramble and roam for hours and come upon a delightful little place at each and every turn.
This is a wonderful Giveaway!

What I love most about Paris is that no matter where you turn, a sensory delight awaits. From a gorgeous view to a delightful bite to eat to the joyful sounds of the city, toute est belle!

Hello Georgianna! What a wonderful giveaway! I have been to Paris twice…once as a teenager and once as an adult about 5 years ago.It is a magical place. I love the cobblestone streets, the cafes, the people and the gorgeous old architecture the best! What is there not to like about Paris?
Jill says
Let’s see now… although Paris is full of beauty, it’s the beautiful skies that I always think of. After a rain, they just sparkle from behind the clouds!
That looks like a lovely book! ::Jill

I enter twice:) The most magical in Paris is that I have never been been there so everything is in my imagination about the beautiful city.
Jessica Cangiano says
Having, thus far, only visited Paris in my mind’s eye, it’s a little tricky to say what I find most magical, but I think it really must be the sense of history (sometimes gorgeous, sometimes wildly tumultuous – always memorable) that permeates so very much of the beautiful city of lights.

Oh I love the clawfoot tub and that bed looks super comfy!I could probably sleep an entire night in it!
Seriously as I have never been to Paris and I am living vicariously through your photos, I would have to add that I love a glass of wine, French of course and doesn’t Johnny Depp live somewhere close? Love his movies!
Does that count!!!
Stacy Stewart says
What is magical about Paris? Well seeing as how I’ve never been there!, that is the most magical part…the idea of the unknown and the things I would like to do when I finally make it there! Of course I will try out my french…should be interesting! In Canada I took five years of french iin school and still don’t know a thing! Okay, I know some of the language, but it’s not pretty! LOL! xo

I love looking at your amazing photo’s of Paris, it takes me right back there.
The whole of Paris is just magical, I especially love walking the streets of Montmarte, spotting the white dome of Sacre Coeur and all the little windmills nestled in the hillsides. The balconies filled with sweet smelling flowers, sitting outside a cafe watching the artists at work, I could go on and on, lol. Can you tell it’s one of my favourite cities ? Deb xxx
Debi Kirksey says
Magical? So many things, but I think it’s the way the city wraps you in its charms so that you go away saying, When can I get back again? It stays in your heart and dreams, pursuing you until the next time you return to fall under its spell once again.
Nicole says
Lovely book! I’ve always dreamed of going to Paris…to look at the beautiful architecture, hear the locals speak French, eat amazing baguettes, sit at a corner cafe and drink coffee while I write. If only!! That’s why I love your photographs, they transport me there.
Holding thumbs!

Dear Georgianna,
I finally made it here. Your new blog is stunning! :)
This looks like a very special book. I have been to Paris when I was 19, with my class mates. What a marvelous and romantic adventure walking around at night, visiting Jazz clubs, sipping coffee and eating crispy freshly baked croissants. I wanted to go back many time, and Zeno and I have a few friends there, but every time we try to schedule a trip, something happens. But one day… oh, yes, one day… I can’t wait to see Montmartre again. :)
Claudia says
Chere Georgianna, just a note to let you know your gorgeous prints are in today’s post on my blog – have a great weekend! http://casadeberry.wordpress.com/2012/07/13/le-breakfast/

I think that Europeans decorate to the max. Everything over the top and bold and colourful. I think in North America we tend to be clutterless and simple. Valerie
Relyn says
I’ve never been to Paris. So, for me, the most magical thing has to be the dream of it. Other than that, I think it would be the attention to detail, the absolute commitment to beauty. That, and the flowers spilling out along the sidewalk. And, the Eiffel Tower is pretty tough to beat. I dream of kissing Jeffrey at the top of it someday.

dear friend: thank you for the invite when we pass through washington on our road trip which will be late july. whereabouts do you live so we can put a pin on the map? would love the opportunity.
as for paris……the language is the first this that comes to mind, the poetry, the films (Gigi and Cinema Paradiso), cobblestone streets, hanging baskets on balconies, shutters, the painters (Cezanne and Seurat, enamelware jejejeje, old men in their berets, Madeline, and the fact that it is SO close to L’Inglaterre which i prefer over France for obvious reasons.
looking forward to meeting you

Hi Georgianna,
Such a generous giveaway and the book looks beautiful.
What makes Paris magical? Walking everywhere and taking in all the beauty, the gardens, museums, everything is so gorgeous and old, shopping at the boutiques and eating wonderful food in quaint restaurants.
