Hello, friends! I wanted to share with you some fun projects I’ve worked on recently – curating custom gallery walls for clients who are decor bloggers and media professionals. As you know, creating images of travel and flowers is my passion and I absolutely adore helping my clients find just the right ones to create the mood and atmosphere they envision for their homes.
The first project was for a wonderful friend and lifestyle expert, Kristy Wicks (@KristyWicks) who wanted a Paris-themed collection in her new home for the mezzanine overlooking her entry. Her home is very neutral with just some touches of soft gray and blush. That’s the finished gallery wall above, along with her Cavalier, Maggie. (photo © Kristy Wicks)
We reviewed 30 or so compatible images from my Paris library to represent the travel and florals that she loves. Below are the final nine that she chose:
I printed 12″ x 18″ prints and she then had them framed by Framebridge. They were hung by her husband, Jeff, who is brilliant at such projects. Here are Kristy and Maggie below with the finished wall. Since it was completed, many of her friends and followers have chosen to have this same collection for their homes, in various sizes and with other types of frames! For another friend, interior designer Randi Garrett, (@randigarretdesign) I curated a collection for her master bedroom. She wanted a pale blush/cream grouping that was romantic and classic. The final set features white roses, crystal chandeliers and exquisite plaster detail from museums in Paris:
And here they are in her gorgeous room. She’s framed them in classic white, ornate frames and placed them on either side of a beautiful window. (photo © Randi Garrett) (Full set is available here.)
Lifestyle photographer Lindsay Hart has her own regular segment on NBC’s “Charlotte Today Show”, and was recently asked by the network to share trends and tips and tricks on creating gallery walls and decorating with photos in the home. I was thrilled that she came to me to create this wall for her home, also in partnership with Framebridge, which was featured on the broadcast show a few weeks ago. (photo © Lindsay Hart).
And it’s wonderful now, with all the affordable options for framing and presentation, that you don’t have to be a decorating professional to create a stunning photo wall for your own home. To contribute to that trend, I recently launched a collection of mini 5″ x 5″ Paris prints that are color coordinated and can be mixed and matched to make small or large gallery walls. They are really fun! And best of all, they’re on sale for only $5.00 each.
You can see the full collection of 48 prints here.
These gallery walls are all based on classic, symmetrical layouts but there are absolutely no restrictions on how you combine or display different sizes, different frames, typography, artwork or really, anything that speaks to you visually. For more fabulous layouts, visit this Pinterest board by my friend Rachel. I hope this has given you some ideas for displaying the images you love!
