Aren’t shadow boxes fun?
Thank you so much for your overwhelming comments on my last post. Really, huge thanks and huge hugs. :) xo – g
These beautiful images were the first ones I saw today, and Georgianna, you inspire me! I wish I had thought of this!!
Oh, I love these photos! So pretty… We've had snow the last couple of days, so spring has been put on the back burner for a while, but hopefully it will kick in again soon :)
How gorgeous!! Georgianna did you make the shadow boxes digitally, or are they real and photographed? What I would give to have such a garden as yours. Of course, if I did, I would do nothing, ever, but spend time there. ♥
I love your shadow boxes, G.! Wow … you've got a lot blooming in your garden.
Last fall I planted purple crocuses in my front yard where I could see them from my living room window. Last week I noticed one had bloomed and 2 or 3 more had little purple buds. I was so excited! Grabbed my camera and photographed the one in bloom. The next day I looked out to see if anymore had bloomed and the rabbits had eaten every single crocus right down the the ground. *sigh* So nothing is blooming in my garden anymore.
Have a wonderful weekend!
xoxo,
Lynda
Hard to believe, but I've never made a shadow box. Yours are to die for! Love your soft images!
Brenda
Janine – thank you so much! I'd love to see your take on this idea – I'm sure it would be fabulous. :)
Oh, Moa, I hope it returns fast, too. We've had snow in past years as late as the end of April and it can be discouraging!
Thank you, Betty Jo! These are real shadow boxes, photographed just as you see them. I set up the tripod so I could do a number of shots with different plants but the same framing and exposure. It works well until I bump the tripod or something silly like that. Come visit the garden anytime!
Lynda! I'm so sorry about the rabbits. How awful. Thankfully, we don't have rabbits or deer. Knock on wood…
Have a wonderful weekend everyone! xo – g
So pretty!
Isn't spring the best?
My Bleeding Hearts are just starting to come up.
Another three weeks and they'll be in their glory.
Splendid collections….I am watching our hydrangeas bud-out…and can hardly wait for the show! smiles.
I love, love, love the boxes (I take it's wallpaper inside them?) especially filled with all the flowers and birds… It's just really beautiful, thanks for the inspiration. Have a lovely weekend. C x
What a wonderful idea to display your flowers in bloom. I've done something similar when my cranebills were flowering last summer. We finally got some flowers here too (mostly snowdrops)and I can't wait for more. Hope you have a nice weekend! xo
Yes, shadow boxes are fun! I see we live in the same climate. Nature is showing off. It's nice to have a front row seat!
Happy blooming days!
What a marvellous presentation Georgianna! I'm learning more and more through photography and I love it! :)
Happy Spring!
Oh what a beautiful modern version of an old illustrated herbal — so lovely! And what beautiful blossoms you have! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! :)

So lovely! I was happy to see my daffodils have bloomed in my sanctuary and the lilies I transplanted last year are returning.
Enjoy the full moon! I'm not sure I'll get to see it because it was such a gray day. But it's nice knowing it's there.
Take care,
~Jamie

This is excellent!!!! Have you done this style before!? I love the concept! The old scientific field journals are my passion, even the few drawings of Da Vinci's make me overjoyed. I actually have collages like this that combine dried flowers I have found, drawings of mine and illustrators I love. This was fun and a joy. Thanks for the heart-warming, joyful tear brimming words today! Blessings and light, Amy
I left a comment on this gorgeous post days ago, but I don't see it. Hmmm . . . Georgianna your work is exquisite and these shadow boxes are truly gorgeous! ♥
There's my post up there, I just found it! Georgianna I felt these were real, but wasn't sure. They are soooo beautiful with perfect setup, composition, and exposure!! ♥

Shadow boxes are fun! I love how you arranged the flowers so beautifully and what a very clever idea! I do hope you enjoy your Easter weekend. I will be decorating eggs with the kids tomorrow. It should be interesting and eventful. :)
