Madame de Verneville
I want to thank you most sincerely for your thoughtful and delightful comments on the last post! I truly am amazed at how many of us respond so passionately to peonies. And sooo, today I have more for you.
If proof were needed that the days are a bit too full, even for me, I photographed these almost two weeks ago, downloaded them and forgot to even look at them until tonight. So, they rightfully should have gone in the last post on peonies, but since it seems we all cannot get enough, here they are for you to start your weekend with petals of pink!
I’m can’t even taking time to process them right now, as I am off early in the morning for Oregon again and a few planned shoots, so out of the camera straight to you. (The weather has not been cooperating, one reason for my current distraction, I believe.)
Again, lovely to see each of you. Wishing you a weekend of magical happenings and unexpected pleasures!

p.s. Um, expect more peonies Saturday, if you don’t mind?

Yes, yes, more peonies! I planted some in my garden this year, I don't think they'll blossom this summer. But it's so lovely to see yours. Makes me want a whole lotta more of them :)
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and have time to relax as well!

Dear Georgianna, Can never get enough of your beautiful photography, whatever flower it might be. And, there are all the summer flowers still ahead of us and so many of your photographs to look forwad to and marvel over.

Look forward to them!!! These are just like I like them, big and light-filled. Again, thanks for these because something didn't go right for peonies here this year. I am so glad to live vicariously through these and can almost smell them dear. Have a great trip! Blessings.

Mmmmm… these look good enough to eat, like a giant fluffy pink cupcake!
ANd yes, I wouldn't mind seconds, or thirds! :)

These peonies are so beautiful! I do have to enjoy them from afar because I don't believe they grow well in my area…dry, hot, desert. So, I really appreciate their delicate beauty! I do hope you enjoy your time in Orgeon. Today Ashley has her ballet rehearsal and so we will be busy with that for the next two days. Thinking of you and hoping you are well. ♥Kristi

One can never get enough of peonies, can one? They are the most scrumptious of flowers and like Caitlin above said, "…like a giant fluffy cupcake," is a perfect description of them. Thanks for sharing your beauties.
Blessings,
Sandi

The light pink peonies remind me of the big flowers we make with tissues for wedding showers.
I don't think one could overdose on peonies so I'm looking forward to more.

Just discovered your blog recently. Love all the flower shots! Peonies in particular of course. I also did some recently, purely for fun, though sadly I can't seem to find any more in the store around here. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful work

Dearest g, these set of photos are soo magical and i couldn't stop looking at them! Truely amazingly beautiful work!
Would you mind sharing with us which lense you used to take these gorgeous close up photos of this poeny? Have a lovely merry happy day and lots of love to you!!
Georgianna says
Thank you very much! Yes, of course, Jacqueline.
The lens is one of my favorites, Nikon 60mm macro, f/2.8.
Images #1 and 2: 1/3 sec at f/9.0.
Images #3 and #5: 1/30 sec at f/3.2.
Image #4: 1/3 sec at f/10.
Image #6: 1/8 sec at f/10.
Although I often hand hold this lens, these were all shot on a tripod using natural light. In this case, from my kitchen skylight.
You remind me that I was going to post such info with the images and I have been in such a rush, I didn't remember. I apologize. I will do my best to include it in all future posts. Keep reminding me!!
xo

Dearest G, THANK YOU so much for sharing your the lense information! Nikon 60mm macro, f/2.8 is the lense i want to buy and i'm trying to do a little research on pricing, quality of the photos that it take, etc before i purchase it! So so happy to know that you are actually using that lense and that it's working so well for you! Thanks again for sharing! Love love to you!
