Tea tins, vintage creamers, old mustard jars and, of course, summer roses.
After all our travels and house guests and assignments throughout spring and summer, at last we are taking deep breaths, relishing the fragrances and colors of the beauties that are blooming in our garden. The days are still long, sunlight lingers on the tops of the tallest trees and the weather is perfection.
Which is not to say we are not working – we are – but from our “summer offices”, next to the rose beds and and hydrangea walk and the most popular of the many birdbaths, in our zero-gravity recliners, perfect for those sudden waves of feeling nappish.
Thank you, lovely friends, for your kind words on the last two posts on our trip to Canada. I’m pleased you enjoyed the tour and hope you visit there if you have the opportunity. And welcome to new readers – a lovely surprise!
The garden is fairly bursting with blooms – I have many images to share in the days to come.

oh your photos make my heart sigh, so so beautiful. I love that Lovely Fairy rose, it reminds me of a rose we used to have in my childhood home that covered a walkway pergola. I used to adore walking under it in the Summer months. I must remember that name for one day to plant one myself. Love the colour combinations in these photos, just dreamy x

Hello G
I have to agree that the dog days of summer are the nicest. The gardens are lush and flourishing on their own by now and the butterflies are more abundant during this time.
I'm off to my horticultural convention until Sunday afternoon so unless I find an internet connection, I'll wish you a nice weekend now.

Gorgeous roses G!! I love all the tins and am excited to see we have the same patterned teapot! (second to last image) :) I wish it weren't so hot and humid here. It's killing my photo mojo. :(
Thanks for sharing. Have a great week!

It's such a treat to wake up to all your wonderful comments! Thank you, each of you. Gosh, we all love roses, don't we? I should mention that 'The Lovely Fairy' is a hybrid of the better known 'The Fairy', very similar but the hybrid is darker in color. xo

I'm looking forward to more from your garden. The extreme Houston heat is so hard on flowers here, that they are now rare, so I will enjoy yours along the way. I can almost smell them….

Ohhhhhh Georgianna! I've missed you so. These are so very lovely. I especially love the flowers in the tea caddy. I've been too busy to breathe lately, but decided in the midst of my crazy life to stop and create a photo blog. I posted the first time today. My soul was crying out for creativity, as I'm sure you understand!! ♥

With each post from your garden I wish even more to see it some day! You have the most amazing blooms, I can only imagine what a riot of lush colour and light your garden must be, you must take such very good care of it. These roses are fit to crown the head of a goddess, they are sublime in colour and shape and I can imagine they smell like the sweetest days of summer too :)
