to Romance…
Yes, it’s almost Valentine’s Day, with its sweet celebrations of love and affection! Just a few images I’ve been working on this week (among many, many other projects) for YOU in order to say thank you for visiting and for the overflow of good wishes, lovely blog mentions and beautiful gifts I’ve received recently. I’m tremendously grateful. (That I haven’t shared them here yet in no way means they are not extremely precious to me.)
I rarely purchase roses for my photographs (our garden provides them in summer). But these little spray roses ‘Minou’ waved eagerly to me in the store with their irresistible pink petals. And seemed perfect for some vintage containers.
Pinks and silvers and soft neutrals. A gentle prelude to the red hearts and sugared confections and blossoming spring soon to come.
I’ve been most awfully busy with all manner of projects – from the creative and exciting (upcoming trips, new gear) to the mundane (studio reorg) and downright fiddly (website upgrades and taxes). And suddenly, January is almost gone. But there’s a quiet whisper of expectation and new growth.
Beautiful! Amazing! Very soft anf gentle.
your flower photographs are always stunning
Those pink roses are just gorgeous Georgianna! January has flown past for me too, I'm looking forward to February, hopefully it will be a bit quieter and more relaxing!xx
I've been waiting for your next post! All beautiful shots, and funny thing is I found myself buying roses over the weekend too!
I guess we both are longing for our flowers to start blooming!
Beautiful these photos are really fantastic! Pure poetry! Good week!

Oh Georgianna your photos and images are so romantic and exquisite. Our roses are blooming but as the weather has reached over 40degrees here the are not to happy, in a couple of day there should be a break in the heat. I am looking forward to this!
The days are running so quickly my friend, I hope you are safe and well and that the weather and time will dance peacefully for you. xxxx
So very beautiful.
Love your romantic, pink prelude to Valentine's day! From the thumbnail preview in my Blogger, I knew these were going to be beautiful… xo

It is a relief to be reminded that January is nearly over in such a lovely way. I have just visited your website very impressive, liked your FB page now. I did not know you had one, sorry. I have one for News From Italy as well!
I love the vintage feel to these photographs. Your website is also a lovely place to visit. :-)
Hi Georgianna,
I love your prelude to romance. The roses would be hard to resist-glad you didn't!
I love your new website too.
Thank you for sharing,
Carolyn
Hi G
I visited your website before commenting and I could have sat here watching the flowers and changing sidebar colours all afternoon. It is fantastic, a work of art in itself to showcase your talent. I am in love with the photo of the pink gerberas in the blue preserve jars! I may have to treat myself again soon – maybe for my BD next month.
As for your post, my favourite is the white roses in the chippy white iron urn. It is the trailing ivy that adds the finishing touch to this photo…. very nice.
Hugs,
Judith

Not feeling a change of season here yet. Just bitter cold and lots of snow, but coming here is a beautiful reminder that spring does exist!!
Georgianna as always your photos are stupendous. I love the soft and romantic look of them. It makes me happy just to look at them. V
Hi dear friend, Your website works for me. Stunning pictures, loved them all. You have been very busy, in a good way. I so want spring, the snow and cold of winter are unwelcome now…color and sunshine are now needed. Take care, hugs Jen.
Oh my, it is always a wonderful treat to come here and see your latest photos! Its like having dessert after a meal, such a sweet thing!
Spring does not feel so far away, I saw a budding tree today full of small pink blossoms. And its still January! I didn't have my camera but I will next time!
Love those roses! I'd have bought them in a heartbeat too! So pretty! And, heading over to check out your other site!
Beautiful shots and congrats on your website revamp! It's full of gorgeousness, specially love the still life and interior decor section.
Lovely, just lovely, G! Thanks for sharing your techniques for achieving such beautiful pictures. I'm definitely in the market for a macro lens to add to my collection. I'm quite enthralled with what they can do.
Gave your calendar away yesterday! A local friend won it so it was my privilege to deliver it to her personally. She already knew she won because I posted about it. Read that post if you get a chance. Wish you could have seen her "happy dance." Thanks again!
Loved your new website and look forward to your upcoming projects!
Your website is like landing in the most perfect dream! Seeing wonderful Great Dixter was a treat. I like how the side panel colours change in the gallery with the photos and the vertical 3 photos combined – what a huge amount of work that must have taken. I'm still trying to work on a new website. Catherine x
Breath taking and inspiring!
I love that vintage can (?) with your flowers in it. Took my breath away when I glimpsed those roses.

What a cute roses, dear G! I think, I've never seen this fanciful sort before! And, of course, you photographed them greatly; soft and very elegant compositions! Especially I like those "canned" roses, 3rd from the above…!:))

i dont usually get flowers to just photograph, but i am having fun this week with some sunflowers i got. so cheerful!
Winter is still going on for maybe two, three months:( but I have started too buy flowers to cheer me up. Last Sunday I bought quite exiting carnation, it looks like grass.I booked six days landscape photo shooting course in Tuscany Italy at the end of the April. I'm very exited about that. My back is killing me but so what,it's life and I'm enjoying it. (life not my back)
Have a nice Sunday darling and try to rest not just work.
Henrietta
Somehow I missed this one :( Well I'm glad I saw it now :) Gorgeous as always and I'm just drooling over that vintage sugar container! So beautiful, I love it! Well, I love them all! :)
I am not sure that one can have too many roses…..smiles.
Now I'm anticipating even more the "soft turning of the season" as you call it and the Valentine serendipities to come. What a beautiful palette of coft colors you share on this post! Amongst the nitty gritty of details you've been taking care of, I'm so glad you still had time to share some beauty with us.
Wishing you happy days,
Debi

OK, G. That website is stunning. STUNNING! What do you mean less artsy shots? Nothing but pure beauty and inspiration everywhere I clicked. Is there nothing you can't do? The lifestyle portfolio was my favorite, but the whole website is lovely.
