Hello, my friends! Spring is so very close, isn’t it? Here is a peek into what’s going on in my studio. The weather hasn’t been too inviting, some sunny days but also coolness and gray rain – fortunately the light is reaching further toward the equinox and there is lovely softness coming through the windows.
Once again you’ve overwhelmed me with your gracious and enthusiastic comments on the ranunculus post. Thank you very much. And delightful to see quite a few new visitors from around the world – so lovely to hear from you!
And in the garden, the robins are singing, the chickadees are chattering and soon I’ll be rising before daylight again to begin obsessively recording it all. What joy! And what a pity we have to sleep at all in spring and summer.
A most beautiful week to each of you.
love,
– g

These narcisuss are truly beautiful and really tell us that spring is trying to sprout. I love the Crocuses as well….wow. In Australia the true essence of spring is a little lost, it just doesn't get cold enough.
I remember being in Holland after a cold winter and the ground was covered in little blue sprouts, it was truly lovely…it was like they were desperate to get out! I love the way you have captured them and coupled them with an Easter theme, truly they do demonstrate new life.

If I was a narcissus in your photo, I'd be totally narcissistic too… Coz they are so gorgeous:) The tones in the second image is absolutely breathtaking…

Hi G
I really want to comment on the photos but I'm stuck on the little note at the beginning of the comments – how sweet is that!!
Checked out the post I missed – awesome colours. I love the white daffs against the purple damask backdrop – stunning.
All the butterflies caught my eye and the bird's nest is cute – hurry up spring!
Hugs,
Judith

i love the flowers against the damask, it's a great pairing! and that macro shot of the flower is stunning! what lens did you use for that?
Georgianna says
Thank you, everyone! So glad these bring spring thoughts.
@Sandy, I used my Nikon 60mm f/2.8 macro, on a tripod, f/9.0, 1/8th of a second. Thanks for asking!

Thank you for the lovely photos esp. the daffodils. Spring is almost here!
Bumpkin Bears says
Just today I saw my daffodils starting to unfurl this morning. I love your white tete a tetes, I have never seen this variety, pure beauty! I love your backgrounds to your images. I have started to look at my product photography and could learn a lot from how you put your photos together. I love your Eastery grouping with the colourful buckets. Do you use wallpapers that are on your walls already as backgrounds or how do you get these lovely backgrounds to your sets? Weather over here is looking promising for the weekend for D, tomorrow and thursday rainy and cloudy, but Friday sunny (9c) and Saturday sunny (12c)! So I hope it means a nice bright day for Ghent. Hi again! Catherine, thanks for asking. For the backdrops, I use large pieces of handmade papers, 3' or 4'. I prefer using these instead of printed backdrops because they have lovely texture and depth.
I believe the White Tete a Tete is a new introduction. At least I had never seen it before this year.
And thanks for the Belgium weather update! D is very much looking forward to Ghent. :)

Your work is truly amazing Georgianna.
I wish you a beautiful week.

These are so beautiful! It's so nice that spring is really starting to show its many faces. I agree, I have waited a long time through this winter it seems a shame to have to sleep through any of this coming sprng. I am still waiting in my little neck of the woods for things like crocuses and cherry blossoms but I can go to the store and get some tulips or daffodils. So I continue to wait patiently and get signs of spring here!!

So fresh and beautiful. Love the colours. Your work is truly a thrill to the senses.

Oh how pretty, glad to see spring has arrived for you1 My daffodils are poking out of the ground a few inches, along with the hyacinths and tulips so it is slowing coming here. Of course we got a bit of a dusting of snow today. Soon I will have pics of spring. I did buy a small potted plant of mini daffodils today, will take pics this weekend! Have a wonderful weekend Georgianna!!
Lori says
Love the daffodils! They were often one of the first signs of Spring in Tennessee where I spent some of my growing up years. We called them Buttercups. I'm assuming they are "cousins" in the Botany world. I never see them here in North Florida so your pictures made me smile but then your pictures always make me smile!
