Hello everyone! I have to say I’m still bowled over by your response and heartfelt words to the giveaway and our new shop. You are each such kind and generous and playful spirits that I had to stop for a few minutes in rereading your comments today for a moment of gratitude that, however and why ever, we’ve connected and you’ve welcomed my world into yours. I absolutely did not, when I began this blog over four years ago, envision that.
Closer to home than recent posts – our David Austin roses and hydrangeas, photographed yesterday in our garden. Graham Thomas has decided to become a tree and is reaching his golden bouquets nearly up to our second floor office window.
As for the giveaway, we do have four winners that I’ll announce in just a moment. But first, as you know, I most enjoy games where everyone wins so to thank everyone for participating, here is a new download for you of a sweet postcard that I purchased at the Port de Vanves flea market in Paris. It is such a charming piece – I can’t help wondering about Mademoiselle Genevieve and how she spent her holidays back in 1934.

Just love how this yellow blend with the peach and soft blue, a fresh colour palette I haven't seen you use before G, but still very much recognisable as your style.
How blessed you are to have the David Austen roses blooming so well. Sadly the very wet summer knocked ours and we only had a half a dozen blooms all season.

I must say I am enchanted to visit your blog and your beautiful photos.
I am a french artist and I lived near the Porte de Vanves in my youth, until I was 25 years. I know very well the flea market where I went with my parents every weekend. At first the flea market was small but now it is large and the atmosphere is not at all the same as it was in my youth.
