Hello everyone! I hope your month of May has been merry!
For your weekend viewing, I’m bringing you a colorful tour from our recent adventure in San Francisco. The weather was gorgeous, clear and sunny, with a very strong wind that threatened to blow us over a few times while navigating the steep streets and sidewalks (especially when carrying 30 pounds of gear!)
Our trip was a mix of business, family visits and a little getaway. D used to live in the North Beach area and I’m quite familiar with the city, so we very much enjoyed visiting favorite spots and indulging in perhaps too much Italian food and gelato (but is there such a thing as too much gelato? I think not). Experiencing other environments is so rejuvenating, isn’t it? Even a drive to a neighboring area for lunch or sightseeing can be such a lift to the spirits and also make you appreciate where you live even more. An adventure near to home is an adventure just the same. I’d love to hear what adventures you’ve been on recently or are looking forward to.
(In other news, this week I completed a huge and important project which had been my main focus for the last six weeks, so my shameful blogging neglect will be soon rectified. Thank you for continuing to visit through it all.)
Thinking of you and sending wishes for a lovely weekend. I hope these photos bring a bit of joy and adventure.
much love,
G

Funny you should post these as today we were just talking about going to SF for a few days in September. You captured the feel of the city beautifully!

Beautiful pictures so much color, looks like candy town:) Experiencing other environments is so rejuvenating is like holiday from “normal” life. Last weekend I was in tiny island near by my home. I was there only six hours but it felt like I have been away like few days. There is something very calming being surrounded by the sea and just relaxing and enjoy the sun and nature.
Have a beautiful weekend!

Absolutely love, love, love these pictures! I know you specialise in flower photography (and I always love those) but I think that these might be my favourite pictures of yours – ever!!! :-) SF has always been on my list of places that I’d love to visit one day and this has just reinforced it. Have a lovely weekend xo

Not much adventures here. I’m beginning to feel like I’m always the one that has to stay home and everyone depends on. I feel like I want to break out of here, go anywhere, even just to the next village, just away somewhere.
Thank you for sharing San Francisco with us. I remember I did a post about it when I just started to blog, about the hydrangeas on Lombard Street. It is my most visited post with only one comment though ;-) I also know about the view of the houses on Alamo Square but the way you captured them makes them even prettier than I thought they were from pictures I’ve seen. The Golden Gate Bridge is also so very spectacular and not to miss of course. I hope I’ll get to go to San Francisco once.
Bye, have a lovely weekend,
Marian

Oooh I loved San Fran! Look at all these colours. Just beautiful. We’ve been taking a couple of road trips lately to explore out of the city. We’ve got itchy feet and it’s reinvigorating our love for Australia while we prepare for a future overseas trip! x

What a stunning collection of photos! I love the copper windows and the Chinese lanterns. I haven’t been to SF in ages. Looking at it through your eyes makes me want to visit again. San Francisco is one of the places I want to visit the most. I just know I would fall in love with it on the spot. Getting away from the routine, if only for a short trip near your home, does wonders.

WOW Georgianna, these are amazing shots! And what a beautful city it is, I never visited that part of America, I’m familiar with it just because of movies.
Did you say adventure? Well, after moving to the UK with just 2 suitcases, snow, ice and cold surprised us the very day we arrived, no food for 2 days and no long term place where to stay, I’d say that’s enough for me! You bet I’m having fun! :)
Lots of love,
Monica xo
