Hello, dear friends! I hope this finds you well. Checking in after nearly a month of traveling and thought you’d enjoy seeing some of the magic of autumn in Paris! Above and below, the Jardin des Tuileries, among the best places to revel in autumnal beauty in the city.
Medici Fountain, Jardin du Luxembourg
The garden beds are still filled with flowers! This one at Notre Dame.
The Tuileries
Autumn hues everywhere!
Fountain at Place des Vosges
Cafe in Jardin du Luxembourg
Views from my Paris Perfect apartment in the 7th arrondissement.
The first ranunculus have appeared in the shops! (definitely a luxury at that price!)
A lucky moment on Pont de Bir-Hakeim.
Along the river.
And finally, dawn in the Tuileries.
Spending autumn days here, with cooler temps and shorter hours, is definitely a new experience and one I would highly recommend. The city is less crowded and is no less beautiful than in spring or summer. An expectant hush falls over the parks and gardens, the leaves crunch underfoot, the light is soft and hot chocolate becomes a vital part of the day!
So looking forward to catching up with each of you and what you’ve been up to! D sends his very best, too.
Much love always,
G

Dear Georgianna – what delicious soft autumn colours you have captured in the Jardin des Tuileries. We sat on one of those lovely green chairs scattered around the gardens in late June and watched the world go by.
I must try and visit in the autumn, and there is no excuse, as Paris is where my eldest son and his family live.

What an amazing trip!! Your photos evoke daydreams of Paris, as usual and it’s never looked better than through your lens. What can one say about a city that’s fantastic in every season? Oh yeah, ‘Paris is always a good idea’, haha!

Georgianna, Your view of Paris is always enchanting, and these are no exception. There is so much I’d like to say about this wonderful selection you’ve shown us in this post, but I’d be writing a post! But, two things: The carousel looks like royalty would have used it all those years ago, such luxury and so beautiful. And, the Pavillon de la Fontaine, looks like my kinda place to while away the time and, as you say, see the world go by and enjoy that warm chocolat and macarons. Definitely!
I’m ‘living’ in the wrong country…
PS: Have you caught up with Carol Gillott of Paris Breakfasts fame? She now lives in Paris, having moved from NYC two years ago. parisbreakfasts.blogspot.com
I think you two may have a lot in common!

Georgianna, I love the soft tones you captured in these Autumn shots. We have visited Paris in Summer and Winter but I think I will have to add Autumn to my bucket list as well now. It looks gorgeous. We have also sat on those green chairs but when we did there were a lot more people around! I am so glad that you and David are home safe and sound xx
