Hello, dear friends! So far the month of September in Paris has been beautiful, with a few cloudy mornings but otherwise, warm (not hot), sunny and the perfect temperature for strolling along the river or sitting en terrasse.
I especially love late summer in the Jardin du Luxembourg, when the large oleanders burst into hot pink blooms, the exact shade of the geraniums and calibrachoa in the stone urns. Almost every day this week, I’ve stopped by the garden to admire the beauty before it is gone for another year.
And there are still plenty of roses in the markets, like these from the Marché Maubert.
You can see the faintest touch of autumn color beginning in the trees but shorts and sundresses are still the uniform of the day.
Some other fun adventures include seeing this gorgeous display at the Ladurée Beauté boutique on Rue de Rivoli. You won’t find any tempting pastries in this tiny, adorable shop but plenty of deliciously scented teas and candles.
This door on Rue du Bac has been painted many colors over the years but this orchid color is my favorite.
This morning the river and sky created a dreamy backdrop for the Eiffel Tower and the Pont Alexandre III.
The three new images below from Luxembourg are now available as prints in my shop.
I hope September is lovely wherever you are. No doubt our friends down under are delighted to be welcoming spring! À bientôt!
With love,
G

I’m so glad to hear that! It might be an early fall here, in spite of the warm weather, as it was a dry summer. The trees are already turning! G
