Today I’d like to introduce you to two beautiful rose gardens in New York City that you may not be familiar with. I certainly wasn’t, until I began doing research for my book New York in Bloom. Although I could write volumes, I’ll let my photos transport you to these wonderful locations.
First is the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden in the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx. A short train ride from Grand Central Terminal brings you right outside the entrance to the Garden.
The second location, at the opposite end of New York, is the Cranford Rose Garden at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. It features gracious white trellises and long walkways bursting with roses.
If you’re visiting New York anytime from mid May to the end of summer, you’ll love a trip to either, or both, of these gardens. Come early to have them to yourself, as I did.

Oooooooooh!!!! Soooooooo gorgeous! I’m overwhelmed! Wow! I’ve never seen such a beautiful rosegarden as the first one you are putting in the spotlight. I hope I will be able to visit this garden once in my life. I’ll have to dream about that. Wow, so so beautiful. And you sure know how to capture its beauty. Just perfect! All the roses look so perfect. I wonder how many gardeners are around there deadheading en pruning all the roses!? Gorgeous photos, once again! Magical!

Hi Ingeborg!
Oh, yes, I hope you do! It’s a wonderful garden. While I was there, I noticed about six gardeners but not sure that was everyone! Thank you again, Ingeborg. xx
