Hello, friends! I have a treat for you today! If you follow any Londoners on social media, no doubt you’ve seen the darling fairytale pink cake parlours created by Peggy Porschen. The original one on Ebury Street in London’s fashionable Belgravia has been so popular, a new location on King’s Road in Chelsea was opened in April (above). These feminine and romantic locations are a must visit on any trip to the city. The pretty exteriors, with seasonally changing floral displays, and sparkling interiors compliment the famously delicious cakes, pastries and other delights that Peggy and her team dream up. This spring, while living in London shooting London in Bloom, I was fortunate to be invited to a special brunch hosted by Peggy herself to launch their brand new summer breakfast menu.
We were greeted with custom lattes in pastel cups before having a tour of the new parlour which has been exquisitely designed and features custom floral wall murals by internationally acclaimed artist Kerrie Hess.
Everything was exceptional including buttermilk pancakes and the pink breakfast bowl with granola, yogurt and fruit.
The seasonal speciality cake is Elderfleur and Berries. It was truly amazing! The entire presentation and color scheme was a complete joy to experience.
The Chelsea Parlour has plenty of room and cozy nooks for girly get togethers and festive tea parties, like this area (above) framed by one of Kerry Hess’s custom murals. Downstairs, a rose-strewn function room is available for private events.
The original parlour in Belgravia, below, where it all started, has achieved iconic status among Londoners and visitors. How could you not fall in love with this magical place that makes you feel like royalty?
Its location on Elizabeth Street is also picture perfect and everything in the Parlour is the same happy shade of pink.
Peggy herself is so warm and welcoming and we chatted about future projects and potential collaborations for the release of London in Bloom next spring.
Thank you again to Peggy and her fantastic team for such a fun and delicious morning. Be sure to put a visit to Peggy Porschen Parlours at the top of your list of unforgettable London adventures!
love,
G
