Bonjour! Today I’m very happy to announce two new Paris print collections – 16 new 5″ x 5″ mini prints and five new full size prints, all on sale.
These are the 16 new 5″ x 5″ prints. The full Paris Mini Print collection now includes over 62 different images – perfect to mix and match to create your own custom gallery wall. Each has special meaning to me because of they mark a memorable moment in my life in Paris. Currently they are all 50% off. Find them here!
And the latest full size prints are some of my favorites that capture the magical spirit of Paris! Each are 20% off right now. Here they are:
From our apartment in Paris, I’m always watching the clouds in the sky, trying to judge if there will be a beautiful sunset. I have a set list of places to race off to if it looks like a potential winner but I’ve been fooled many times! Sometimes when I arrive at the destination, it clouds over completely and others, it clears up completely (you really need clouds for a great sunset). On this day, I jumped on the Metro and nearly ran to the rooftop observation deck of Printemps department store. I waited and waited, leaning over the railing and doing lighting tests. Finally, just at sunset, the lavender clouds were illuminated by a a burst of light on the horizon. So the sunset did turn out to be a winner!
Rue La Grange is directly across the river from Notre Dame. This pink building on the street faces a lovely small park called Square René Viviani which has blooming trees in spring. On the other side of the square is Shakespeare & Company bookshop and many cafes. In all, it’s a lovely and historic area for a stroll. I also photographed this many years ago for Paris in Bloom, framed by the white cherry blossoms in the park. You can see that image here.
“Pink Details at the Carnavalet Museum”
During the shooting for Paris in Bloom, I had private access to a unique room in the Carnavalet Museum, a pink confection of a space with delicately painted plaster and wood work (you can see it also in the chandelier image above). This is one of the ornate details from that shoot that was included in the book.
Well, here was a truly serendipitous moment – I was standing on Rue Jacob, photographing the exterior of Laduree, when this pink Citroën parked in front of me. Definitely made my day!
Since I was 14, one of my favorite pastimes has been to wander Paris, camera in hand, without agenda or timetable. I found this door on a recent walk through the 17th arrondissement, a fabulous area filled with stately, imposing Haussmann buildings. I love the scuff marks and the delicate details. Once in awhile, someone asks me if I’ve photographed every pretty door in Paris. The answer is no, but even if I had, they are constantly changing, being restored and repainted different colors, so something new can always be found!
I hope you’ve enjoyed these latest images. Be sure to follow me on Instagram for daily views of Paris @georgiannalane and @aparisianmoment
