Spring greetings, dear friends!

As promised, images celebrating the delights of our spring garden. Though, to be honest, these were photographed last April – the garden is blooming even earlier this year but as I’d never shared these photos, I thought you’d enjoy seeing them. The ranunculus, parrot tulip and akebia vine are from the farm of my dear friend Erin and the rest were cut from right outside.

Spring is incredibly precious, isn’t it, with its symbolism of growth and rebirth? Life has been challenging and bittersweet here of late so the sunshine, flowers and birdsong bring welcome joyful moments. And I’m awfully pleased that spring danced in early for soon I will be traveling again and I hate missing even a single bloom. Adventures await and before long I’ll be taking you to new locations as well as familiar favorites, all graced with spring beauty.

Until then, many more spring images to come. My hope is that you are experiencing such wonderful explosions of nature where you are or savoring the last sweet days of summer down under.

with love and gratitude that you are in my life,

G

I’m not finding such beauty in my own yard, so it’s a real treat to find it here on your blog and remember the special afternoon when we were able to lunch with you in your beautiful garden. Hope you enjoy all the blooms before you have to head off on your next adventure….

  • Oh, this is so needed, Georgianna.
No color here yet. I am wondering if spring forgot all about NY. We have a major snowstorm in the forecast for midweek, so I am thinking not much color for a while yet.

Thank you for all of this beauty! I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend, and I wish you a beautiful week ahead.

    xo.

  • So much beauty in each of these. I can look at these and dream of spring here. Its still cold. The rivers are starting to run with so much ice around them.
Safe travels. I look so forward to more photos.

  • Dear Georgianna, I have waited all year to see your beautiful woodland garden come to life again. What sensational photographs!

    March 25, 2014
  • So pretty! These flowers do not grow here well and remind me so much of home. Thank you.

  • What a beautiful medley of flowers! Ranunculus is one of my favorites…I’ve been waiting to see some bundles at the florist. You’re so blessed to have such a wonderful garden and to be enjoying flowers already. My eyes are aching to see some greenery and such instead of snow!

  • I have been away from your gorgeous place for too long G. Your beautiful photos are always awe-inspiring! It will be awhile until I see spring flowers here so this is truly a treat for me. I loved your posts of Venice! The costumes at the carnival where absolutely amazing weren’t they?!
I am heart-sick over the horrible mudslide in Oso my dear. I know that this must be so hard for those of you who live there. I have been so sad since the news hit.
    Take care sweet friend.
    sending hugs…

Oh, how I love your photos…
They bring so much joy and beauty in my life.
We’re just waiting real spring… though it has been exceptionally warm here, we have to wait our flowers to grow…
    Thank you these gorgeous photos!

  • These are delightful, G! I’m glad someone is enjoying spring! We’re still buried under mountains of snow….it has been an exceedingly long winter (in fact, we woke up to a freak, heavy snowfall on Fri!). The thaw is finally starting though, well…we did see dripping gutters yesterday and puddles :)

  • The hazy sun is whispering its way through the leaves of my garden as I type this comment, and the tiny gorgeous silver eye (native green birds smaller than a sparrow) twitter together as they sip from my birdbath on my balcony. Green and gold everywhere and the dappled light creating moving shadows all around me. *sigh* *happiness*

Melbourne’s annual Flower and Garden Show has just ended and I have some pix from that visit on my blog.

Yours are a special treat. Showing us the many varieties of narcissus, which always bring a smile to my face. The basket in the garden is my favourite.

  • A Garden of Threads

My gosh I was thinking, G’s spring garden looks fabulous this year. I was getting envious, as I have about 5 crocus in bloom today. So colourful.

  • Do you even remember this post from March? I’m just reading now. It’s very moving. =) Life, here, has been a wee bit tough, lately, but I am, indeed, enjoying what you said, “Spring is incredibly precious, isn’t it, with its symbolism of growth and rebirth?” It’s very, very sweet after the long winter! We just have scilla and daffodils and the lilac’s leaves are just budded out and tiny. Love! =)
