I have been, too. Early this morning, a dream of sunlight bursting through pink petals, which had appeared overnight in a vast and wondrous garden.
Even though winter’s time has not yet expired, in my dream I took up my camera…
… and switched the setting from black and white to color
for the fluffy clouds of rose which appeared through all the branches.
When I awoke, my thoughts were not of this joyful explosion of spring, but of stories recently heard of sadness and loss, tears flowing for people I’ve never met but who I send my heart out to, and wish them to feel some comfort amidst their difficult days.
I thought of the party I attended yesterday, the 90th birthday of one of my Mom’s oldest friends, Anne Marie, and how she looked elegant and gay in a sparkly top and black velvet pants, surrounding by loving family and friends, all so grateful she was still with them. I was only dropping Mom off, and hadn’t planned to stay, but swallowed my tiny bit of resentment at changing my plans as Anne Marie seemed so glad I was there… How many more of her birthdays will I have the chance to attend?
I arose to lovely messages from two dear friends met through Flickr, who expressed that my photographs have inspired and meant something to them, touching me beyond words.
An eventful morning already, by all accounts. Emotions and wishes and hopes and dreams. And now the sun is shining and I shall venture out. The pink petals from my dream may not be real, but love and friendship and compassion most certainly are. As the song says, Life is precious, and every day is a prize. And so, here is my wish today for all of you:

What a beautiful post dear G
I am in awe of your blossom photos
it brought to mind the song Edelweiss (maybe spelt wrong)from The Sound of music…..
"blossom on snow may we bloom and grow bloom and grow forever" when the Captain sings it, I always feel so moved,
and then I came to your last photo with the very words about blossoming
Thankyou for that wonderful blessing.
Love always kat x
And I think you should sell that one as a card!

I did a link again from my sidebar to this particular post because it represents how you understand the moments of waking in black and white and in knowing that sometimes the answers to sadness are not in black and white the peace is in visiting the pink blossoms of dreams and hope. You have given this to all of us with this magical snowy post and know it is appreciated. Blessings beautiful spirit.

Hey G! I've fallen in love with your photos yet again. Adore the flowers in the first few photos the most, though! They're so sweet and gentle. Such is a beautiful life when dreaming of such peaceful and lovely things.
What I love most in all these very old people is that they truly know how to enjoy life the fullest with every little bit that they have – just like Anne Marie being so very happy that you were there for her party. :) Their smiles just makes the world a brighter place.
Thanks for sharing, darling.

Such a sweet post… I was touched by the story of your mom's friend. It happens with kids, too, no? Sometimes we get so caught up in the chaos of daily lives and then suddenly – we remember what's really important. And it's a little bit magic. Like spring-time snow.
I enjoyed my visit here. Thank you for sharing your words and your beautiful photographs.
