Although many of our daffodils are showing as bright green spikes around the garden today, and although I would love to say these images are from this year, alas, they are not. I’m posting them as a little reminder of what is about to burst forth, our stalwart little soldiers, braving the last of winter with their perky trumpets and bright ruffled collars.
And these images aren’t even from last year, but the year before. Last year’s heavy snow and unusual cold damaged or outright killed many of our bulbs, so our show last year was not as grand. But I am hopeful for 2010 – in November I planted another 200 bulbs!
I think you must know I love roses, a passionate connection to a regal lady, rich with historical connotations, luxury and heady perfumes.
But if I had to choose one flower to grace the rest of my days – with delicious fragrance, cheery outlook and courageous demeanor, it would be these.
Sweet Narcissus.
Made even sweeter because D would choose them, too.
Thank you for your visits and comments, dear friends. If you stop by regularly or if this is your first visit, I am honestly touched and honored.

They are my favorite bulb, as well. My mother introduced me to them as her favorite, the hope, the smell, the colors. The daffodil lament. The Cranberries song is one of my favorites ever! When I saw that pink one up there and the composition and glow I felt my eyes prick with joyous tears. Can you believe it? You send me to a sweet wondrous place every time. Thanks for sharing your vision. Blessings dear friend.

I thought I was doing well with Ol' Man Winter, but you've made me want to kick him out and welcome Madam Spring. I had forgotten how very good a daffodil smells!

Yellow flowers are my mam's favourite so I'll show her your narcissus photos G. I'm surprised to learn they are the one flower you'd choose, I thought it'd be roses,it is for me :)

Thank you, Jacqueline and Kat! Yes, it's surprising I would pick daffs over roses, but it's a close choice. Fortunately, I don't really have to choose! We have our first snowdrops out now but they are so tiny, I haven't photographed them yet! Have a merry day yourselves!!

Your spring is beginning! I'm so very jealous, as I haven't even seen green spikes here yet. We have sunshine this week though, so perhaps they will peek out soon. These photos are simply delicious, especially the Narcissus. The color combo of purple with the white and yellow is incredible. Will you be making a card with that image?
Sorry I've been out of touch. I have some major-for-me projects going on right now. Hope to catch up soon so I can visit more often. I miss you! But, I know you're super busy too. ♥
