You have been missed. ♥
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Ahhhh, what a glorious day! How I love it when the weatherman gets it wrong, in our favor, of course. Today was to be partly cloudy, and yes, it began that way. But now, at 7 pm, with sun still high above the horizon and hours before sunset, I’m scanning in all directions hither and yon but with barely a cloud to be seen.
The annual badminton tournament is in full swing, D leading 4 matches to 3, both of us still a bit rusty from a winter of no play.
Teacup-sized roses unfold before us, birds zig and zag in a courting ferver, outdoor projects are cheerily underway and there’s a half hidden giggle threatening to erupt from everyone’s lips.
Oh, dear Summer, I curtsey to you. Your arrival is MOST welcome!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Thank you, each one, for your lovely comments on my last post. I’m very happy you enjoyed the birds. Although sunrise is at 5:11 am, the birds start at 4:10, so that’s when I’m up and outside recording them. It’s a very simple activity, but fills me with joy every day.
What simple things are bringing joy to your June?

I am loving the light on the Cosmos and Queen Anne's Lace! It is so lovely to enjoy the eye candy of someone else's garden- if only through a computer!
Thanks :)

In answer to your question, so far sunsets and cherries. Although you will know the latter were not so good this year, if you have had a chance to read my latest post.

Oh so wonderful delicate pictures of Summer. They evoke a feeling of early morning in me…
What makes me happy in June ? My roses, strawberries and cherries and the waterlilies in my pond. Walkind barefeet in the late evening through the cooling grass. Drinking buttermilk as "food" and being content with this. wearing fluffy clothes which are wide, pastel colored and made from thinnest linen with lace. and much more :-)

My little one asked why flowers aren't all the same shape… this post shows just a beautiful smattering of the miracle of different shapes… I just am in awe of this question. I said they must be different to attract different friends, but that I didn't really know why… but that I sure am glad there are so many different types… "me too." he said. I just adore this life. Thanks for the beautiful post of light and texture and wonder. Blessings.

Score off them all in tournament!;) I adore badminton too and we play it often; sometimes even when the dark twilight falls but we can't stop playing and beat the birdie back just by intuition:)
Have a Dreamy Weekend with you loved ones!

Oh G these flowers are so very lovely, look at all that summer light on their petals :) You are right, summer has been much missed and I'm so glad to have it back again. Here in Ireland we do not get much sunshine at times, but at least the weather is warm and the flowers are in bloom. I love the second one in particular, those pinks are just divine.

I have fallen behind in my visits! What joy and beauty you share!
Our temps are now in the 70s and I'm enjoying every minute I can outdoors! The smell of the pines, the butterflies and birds, the huge cloud formations in the afternoon – sweet, sweet summer is here!
Enjoy!

Ahhhh….such beauty comes from your garden…how envious I am of your garden! How long does this tournament last? Is it just you and D or are there many playing? I haven't played badminton before. It does sound like fun.
Georgianna says
Thank you so much, Kristi!
Re: Badminton. Great to see that Sarah and Zara play, too!
Our badminton tournament officially is just between David and me, and runs until the autumn rains make play unpractical. We try to play every day which gets us away from our computers. Last year we played 90 matches. I won the tourney by one match! :)
The "court" is always open though and family and friends are welcome to come by and play anytime! It is a lot of fun and surprisingly good exercise if you take it seriously, which we do.

As for birds….I have been listening to my own little soundtrack lately…working at home has so many advantages! xo Mary
