Bonjour, mes amis! Hello, my friends! Often I am asked “should I visit Paris in winter”? “Will there be anything to see?” My best reply is always in photographs, such as these, all taken between late January and mid March over various years. Bare trees enable beautiful architecture to be fully appreciated and cool days ensure crowd-free visits to iconic locations.
And plenty of winter blooming flowers fill the markets – anemones, ranunculus and hellebores.
Winter-blooming cherry trees are a most welcome sight.
At the Palais Royal, the stark trees are poetic in their simplicity.
Cafe Kitsuné is a haven at the end of the walk.
The most elegant apartments on Île Saint-Louis.
Toy boats “moored” for the winter at Jardin du Tuileries. Below, Pont Alexandre III.
So, winter in Paris? I’ll let you be the judge.
Wishing you a lovely week.
with love,
G

Some of my best times (and photos) in Paris have been in winter. Your beautiful photos really do it justice. I think this is very valuable and useful info for anyone who is not sure about visiting at this time of year. And there is so much more!
