Hello, dear friends! I’m happy to share more images, a fun new video and bonus gifts for my upcoming New York in Bloom release. This is the second book in the Cities in Bloom series and follows the bestselling Paris in Bloom, released in 2017. Last spring, over the course of several months, I set out to discover the floral essence of New York City and to find where in the vast metropolis the language of flowers was spoken most eloquently – parks and gardens, markets and floral boutiques, soaring architectural wonders and even colorful street art. And the more I looked, the more I found. It was a bitterly cold and snowy spring last year and everything was late in blooming. Most days, I started at Central Park first thing in the morning to check on the progress, visiting the trees and shrubs and giving them much encouragement! And it became no secret to anyone who knew me that I was pretty panicked about making my deadline. But ultimately, I did make it and here is the proof!
This is the rose garden at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx. I was lucky to visit this magical garden at the peak of rose blooming season last year. In the book, I list the best times to visit all of the locations that are featured.
This is Daffodil Hill at the New York Botanical Garden, where hundreds of thousands of narcissus are in bloom in spring.
And here’s a fun new stop motion video that I created this week for the book. I hope it brings a smile to your face.
New York in Bloom Pre-Order Bonus Gifts
And more really exciting news – my publisher and I have come up with a special bonus! Pre-order New York in Bloom before March 12th from your favorite retailer and receive two free gifts which I will autograph for you: an 8×10 photographic print of a brand-new, previously unreleased image from my New York shoot, plus this darling autographed hummingbird book plate for the inside front of your book! All you need to do is pre-order the book, fill out the registration form and provide proof of purchase. Fill out the form here to register for your bonus gifts. (Some restrictions apply. See full terms and conditions here.)
Some retailers you can order from in the U.S.
See this page for international ordering info, including worldwide free shipping! Although the above gifts cannot be shipped outside the US, I will very soon announce special digital gifts for all my international readers and a way to get your own signed book plate. So hang on to that receipt!
Now, you might ask, why have pre-orders become so important in publishing? Pre-orders let the retailers, such as Amazon, know that there is demand for the book and they will then order a larger quantity of books based on the number of pre-orders. This affects publisher print run quantities and reprints and, very importantly, the first week sales figures. These are what bestseller lists are based on and also placement rankings with the retailers. More sales equal more visibility on the retail websites and more placement in “you might also like” sections. It’s really a win-win for everyone as the purchaser receives their book on the day of release and doesn’t have to worry about the title being sold out, which happens more often than you might think. To me, it’s wonderful to know that so many people will have the book in their hands at the very same time, sharing in the thrill of release day! Yay!!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this update and sneak peek. Wishing you all a bright and cheerful week ahead.

Hello, Huda,
Please don’t worry. I’m working out details to be able to send this to international buyers. Let me know when you purchase the book and I’ll tell you what to do. If nothing else, I will send it to you myself. :)
