Bonjour, dear friends! With my latest book now submitted to the publisher, I plan to enjoy summer in Paris (and outside the city) without the pressure of deadlines. I’m very much looking toward to wonderful adventures and to sharing them here with you. To kick things off, here is a random portfolio of recent images taken with my iPhone. No major theme or fancy editing here – just some simple moments with cute cafes, floral displays and peaceful river views. I hope they give you a flavor of early summer life in Paris.

My usual double espresso at La Frégate, one of my favorite local cafes with a charming, Belle Epoque interior.
Peony season now goes well into July so the markets still have plenty of selection.
Nothing like a river cruise on the Seine, passing by the Louvre, to make you fall in love with Paris.
Another favorite on Île Saint-Louis is Cafe St. Regis. I don’t get there often but it’s always a treat to meet up with a friend for breakfast after a river walk.
Cafe de la Comedie is across from the Comedie Française and has, I think, some of the cutest chairs in Paris.
Another charming spot is Place Dauphine, which always offers a quiet respite for a coffee or supper under the chestnut trees, with the June light lingering well after 10:00 pm.
