The first weekend of June, we left Paris to celebrate our anniversary at a gorgeous château hotel, La Groirie, owned by a friend of our dear friend Bénédicte of Château de Sourches. Set in 100 acres of private grounds, yet only 15 minutes from Le Mans station, La Groirie offered us a tranquil and beautiful location for a weekend of long walks, local delicacies and exceptional service.
We were delighted to find the roses in bloom, all around the property, and even more excited to enter the exceptional rose garden, which we returned to each morning and evening.
As the purpose of our visit was a break from work and deadlines, I didn’t take too many photos but did want to share at least some of the beauty of this lovely location. It’s the perfect choice for a French country getaway, and as a base to visit the Conservatoire de la Pivoine at Château de Sourches. La Groirie is family-owned and managed with caring and personalized service. We can’t wait to return!
