Faded Elegance

Today, for our Valentine’s Day treat, we went north about 20 miles to Snohomish, one of our favorite towns, for brunch and shopping. Snohomish is charming, with vintage store fronts and Victorian homes, and is also known for its many antique and gift shops. The one I love most is Faded Elegance.
A Faded Elegance visit is always such a delight for me, like an engraved invitation to leave the computer and many responsibilities behind for a bit and indulge and recharge my senses by savoring the breathtaking design of this shop. The owner, Kimberly, who I’ve chatted with on previous visits, wasn’t there, but we were warmly welcomed by Cassidy, who showed us many of the items newly arrived and kindly gave me permission to take these photos to share here.

Wouldn’t you just love to move in here?

Faded Elegance contains a wealth of loveliness on its large lower level and the upstairs consignment area, all arranged with exquisite taste. Each time I visit, I’m so impressed and inspired by the creative styling and displays, and leave with swirling visions of gold and crystal and light (and Paris!) dancing before my eyes.

I purchased a beautiful mercury glass votive, to be used as a prop for flowers, of course! And D and I found two vintage crystal chandeliers we fell in love with and which may work in our entry and upstairs landing.

And lastly, what is a celebration without cupcakes? Except these, which are so delicious looking, are actually “bath bombs”, for sweet and soothing soaks. Even Cassidy admitted she was tempted to take a bite whenever she passed them in the store!

If you are in the Seattle area, plan a visit to this wonderful and magic-filled shop (I’ll come with you!).
