(Flowers by Floret Flower Farm, styled and photographed by Georgianna Lane)

Hello, dear friends! I couldn’t wait any longer! Now that the calendar says March and so much life is pushing up in the garden, I could delay not a minute more in sharing these images of the sweetest, cheeriest flowers of all (in my view).

When I was growing up, we spent several years on a little farm in Oregon that faced an enormous field of daffodils. I so well remember the glorious fragrance of the rows of brave, yellow soldiers – among the first beacons of spring.

Although I grow many varieties of narcissus myself, this particular shoot from last year features the dizzying array grown by Erin at Floret. When she dropped off several buckets of blooms last March, I couldn’t resist styling them this way and that way to show them off.

We are a few weeks away from this abundance being a reality this year but isn’t the anticipation of spring a delightful part of its magic? So much to look forward to, days of bursting beauty and new growth.

And bursting is what we are doing here with new plans, adventures and projects. I know it’s been a bit quiet here so far this year due to other things needing my attention but now we’re gearing up for some amazing endeavors. It’s a good challenge to spring clean the clutter and streamline the way for the best year of creativity yet, isn’t it?

It’s time!

Thinking of you and wishing each of you a weekend filled with beauty.

much love,

G

p. s. Erin doing a little survey over at her blog and would love your input!

  • Gorgeous promise of spring, full of bright colors. I though spring is also starting here, the sun was melting the snow so nicely few days ago but today it has been snowing all day. I have to shovel “tons” of snow tomorrow again:)

  • G ~ these phographs are amazing!!! They sure bring a bit of joy to my “wintery” heart! LOL! My absolute favorite springtime poem is “I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud” by William Wordsworth. It just describes springtime and daffodils so eloquently! Thank you so much for sharing! xo

  • Hello G
Seeing these delicious spring bouquets is as good as having received them in person. Oh, we’re all so tired of snow and cold weather here and look forward to little bits of green emerging from the soil when it becomes visible.
    Thanks for brightening my day.

    March 3, 2013
  • Oh, G. You have brought such a smile to my face this morning. I so appreciate the gift you have, not only for photographing one of my favorite flowers, but for the art of styling, which is something in which I would love to become more adept. Enjoy this glorious Sunday. Well, it’s glorious right now, but we have some weather moving in later.

    March 3, 2013
  • I needed that dose of spring, thank you!

It has been so cold over here but today the sun is out, the children are playing in the garden and I believe spring is now on its way. I cannot wait ;-)

    March 3, 2013
  • My gosh, these are all stunning. I particularly loved the three bouquets together. You’re such an amazing photographer!

  • Happy March, Georgianna!
We’re still covered in snow here in NY, but hopefully for not much longer. Your beautiful photographs make me want to “fast forward” the next few weeks, but for now, I can just look at these and dream of the spring to come.

I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend, and I wish you a bright beginning to your week.

    xo.

  • Soooo very beautiful my friend!!! .. and such lovely memories.

  • What a treat Georgianna!!! So many beautiful daffodils in all shapes and yellow tones. I love this! If there’s a season that can’t do without yellow it has to be spring and if there’s a flower that looks at its best in yellow it certainly is a daffodil. If I’d have to choose a yellow flower, I’d choose a daffodill for sure! The fragrance is a bonus you get when having these pretties around. I can’t wait for daffodils to start blooming although it won’t be such a great and beautiful variety you’re showing us here. It has been quiet at Floret Flower blog as well, have they found their dream place yet? They have been looking all winter for it haven’t they? I really hope all their dreams come true and Erin can start her own flower farm. If I had to choose what to grow on a farm, it would be flowers as well ;-) It is something not seen over here, no flower farm anywhere near or even further away. Maybe that’s a bit of an indication why it is so hard to grow flowers in our garden as well…
    Bye,
have a great time on all you endeavours Georgianna,
whether it is traveling, photographing or anything else on your path.
    Marian

  • What an immensely beautiful way to usher in the return of spring. We’re not quite at the blossom stage here (today we woke up to -2C), but I really sense the spring in the air, just waiting to break at any moment.

Joyful, gorgeous images, dear Georgianna. I truly hope that you and David have an amazing spring!

  • Hi G,
Oh my, such lovely, fresh images!!!! Makes me feel that spring will really come….we are such a long way from any signs of green-ness. Our landscape is still covered in winter’s snowy grip. We even went cross country skiing today! Fun, but I’d much rather be looking at signs of spring. A gal can dream :)
    Take care,
    xo ~ A

  • Absolutely wonderful images, Gerogianna!
I agree daffodils are the most welcome and cheering flowers of all! So nice you grow them in your garden. I get them from the local supermarket and, let me tell you, I have to buy them nearly every time I go there.
Thank you so much for sharing these glorious images!
    Have a lovely weekend! xo
