We’ve just returned from a several-day jaunt, touring gardens and farms – this time in the lush Willamette River valley in central Oregon. Oh, so many photographs! It will be at least week before I have made any headway preparing them, but couldn’t wait to share a few taken Sunday in what has, over the last year, become one of my favorite gardens in the world.
Looking at the images tonight is making me sigh with longing and seriously consider returning again in the next few days, as I know that in a week or two, the magic of this unique place, the gossamer flowers and rainbow colors and breathtaking scope of it, will fade into the air and mist, like Brigadoon, until next year.
Meanwhile, watch for rhododendrons and columbines and all manner of woodland plants to make an appearance this week.

so perfectly pastel….flowers are so stunning, so sad that their time is so fleeting, isn't it? how wonderful that you are able to capture their beauty.

I have not seen lupins for years, since we lived in the UK I suppose and was that a white wisteria?
Such beautiful shots.
Georgianna says
Thank you, everyone! Yes, Nathalie and Lindy, the white is wisteria. I was inside the tree branches to take the photo. It's so hard to catch at just the right blooming time as it fades so quickly. I imagine Monet's garden has a short time of perfection but I've never been there. Wisteria always reminds me of photos of it though!

Hello dear friend! I adore the cottagey feel to this post. I have a love of lupines. One of my favorite books is the The Lupine Lady and the children love me to read it to them at this time of year. This was magic. Thanks. Blessings and light, Amy
