Farewell, dear August!
I can’t believe it’s time for you to sail away.
Thank you for your gently warm days of piercing blue
with the sweetest, freshest air in many a summer
and for your delicate rains that kept the garden lush
and flowering
And thank you for your astonishingly clear nights
at just the right time
so we could marvel at shooting stars, full moons
and Venus, Jupiter and Mars
I forgive you the many spider webs (and spiders) that laced
the paths on my morning walks around the garden
and for leaving just when we were becoming such good friends.
Can it really be time already?
Farewell, dear August.
Same time, next year?
I can’t wait.
xo

This is so beautiful! I have been fascinated with symbolism in balloons lately. This is beautiful and for me it symbolizes my little one going off to first grade. I love the colors and the poem.

Hi Georgianna,
A beautiful photo to bid farewell to August! We had a beautiful summer here too. It is going up to 30 celsuis for the next couple of days with lovely warm evenings.
I loved your hydrangea post below also. You have so many different colors.
Take care,
Carolyn

What a beautiful farewell to August! :) Love that capture – a bit summery with the blue sky and some autumn too with the yellow colour. To be frank August was not so nice here (rainy and a bit cold…usually it's warmer) but September has had a great start. Wish you a nice autumn! xo

This is so lovely, the photo, the poem … but I'm not ready yet for autumn especially since August here has been so cold and rainy and summer seems to have made a comeback now :-) Love from London x

I Love August….as it is my birthday month….and most of it is spent by the pool….and school isn't quite in for the most part…and, well I could go on….but I won't. I will just agree with you….and your lovely words….smiles.
