Hello, friends! I’m delighted to announce my latest book release, Hydrangeas, which I photographed last summer in France, England and the US. The hydrangeas on the cover are from our own garden, which is such a treat! The book will release in the US on May 26th and in the UK and Europe on July 9th. All the details are here.
I’ve always loved hydrangeas, and have many different varieties myself but discovered such jewels in the course of doing the book. I was welcome at some incredible hydrangea gardens, including the French National Collection outside of Dieppe. This shoot was a whirlwind, literally involving planes, trains, ferries and automobiles as I criss-crossed the Atlantic and the English Channel to capture each variety at its peak bloom.

‘Endless Summer’

I hope you enjoy this latest addition to my floral series. And huge gratitude to the writer of the book, Naomi Slade, for being such a wonderful partner in crime and for her brilliant text, and to my publishers Pavilion Books (UK) and Gibbs Smith (US). For all the details on where to pre-order and stockists, see this link. Signed copies are available in the shop here.
And now, I’m off to begin my research for the next floral book, which I’ll begin shooting in July. The subject is confidential right now but I will let you know as soon as I can!
With love,

Beautiful book and you should probably release a full length movie of the behind-the-scenes drama of producing it!
georgianna says
Thank you, David! That would be quite a movie!
Natasha says
Oh, how utterly beautiful! (this also reminds me that I need to water the hydrangea ☺️). Congratulations! xx

Thank you so much, Natasha! And yes, hydrangeas need a LOT of water. We spend a fortune keeping ours happy but they’re so rewarding.
Hope all is well with all of you there.

So exciting, Georgianna! I adore hydrangeas and feel I need to learn about them, so in combination with your wonderful photography the book is another must have for me. And the movie David mentioned is a great idea! Do consider it, I’m sure there will be lots of people who’d enjoy it.
Hope both you and David are well and keeping safe. Also, that this virus didn’t cause you too much disruption and hardship.
Best wishes and love,
Vesna

Hello, Vesna! Hydrangeas are such rewarding plants, aren’t they? I feel one can never have too many! We are well and safe and quite busy with our projects so are quite grateful that we have not suffered too much disruption. I hope it’s the same for you and that you are able to carry on successfully until such time as we are all in a better state. It seems your Minister is being cautious and putting safety foremost. Sending love from both of us. xxx

Congratulations!!! Can’t wait to receive my copy! I just love all of your floral books. So inspirational in designing my own garden. Your macro photos are so real and sharp, showing the true beauty of nature. Love love love.

Thank you, Veronica! I’m so happy to hear that. I’d love to know more about your own garden, too. Especially at this time, gardens are so important and therapeutic. And I love that about macro lenses, too. Often I don’t realize the detail of a flower until I see the close up photograph as it captures more than we can see otherwise. Wishing you a lovely Sunday!
Lisa says
What a lovely book! I saw it on the shelves of my local nursery the other day and wondered how I’d missed hearing about this book! I love hydrangeas!
georgianna says
Thank you so much, Lisa! It’s just about to be released so that may be why you haven’t heard about it. It was due to come out in April but was delayed. And I love hydrangeas, too!
Huda says

Thank you so much, as always, Huda!
